If you have noticed or experienced activity that is unlawful in your organization, whether it is a government institution or a private sector entity, or your neighbourhood or your community, it is your duty to bring to light the unlawful activity. Silence is complicity in crime.

But the challenge is that we fear for our security or we think that nothing will happen or worse, we just do not care. If we do not care, then we cannot complain about what is wrong. If we think nothing will happen then we have not even tried. Often it is fear that is at work. We fear that we may be victimized or worse, harmed. But that is only if we reveal our identities. There are legal safeguards available. But often we just do not know who to go to.
